English equivalent of this Spanish name?

My best friend is from Mexico and his name is Guadalupe, but I call him Lupe. I know that is a rare name for a guy and is mostly used for girls but I want to tell him his English name since he calls me by my Spanish name. I've searched all over online, does anyone have a clue?
