How to you remove the original vw polo cassette player in 2002-2005 models?

There are radio removal tools available cheaply at places such as Halfords in UK. If you act a little naive when you enquire about buying a pair (which you will need) the staff there will probably show you how to remove it. I believe there are two very narrow vertical slits in the face of the radio and your tools are inserted into these and then the unit pulls out. Other variations include two horizontal slits along the bottom edge. For heavens sake do not try to force it out with brute force ! Your replacement will go straight in the empty space in its DIN sized frame fitting kit. The wires all plug in to the back of the set from the original fit VW harness. The only possible problems are that the aeriel connection may be a male or female type and you may need an adaptor. The other possible problem is that your constant and switched live wires may be reversed and this would affect the memory of the set and the ability to turn off with the ignition key. That problem can be resolved by swapping the wires over.
